§ 1-1.1. Coverage.

The provisions cover all employees in the county's service, with the exception of:

(a)

Elected officials, except as specifically designated.

(b)

County attorneys and members of advisory and special boards or commissions, except as specifically designated.

(c)

Employees of the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service, except that they will be subject to section 6, Holidays enumerated.

(d)

Employees governed by the rules of the State Competitive Service System, except that they will be subject to section 6 covering holidays, annual leave, sick leave, and workmen's compensation, and workweek; section l covering acceptance of gifts and favors, political activity, and conflicting employment; section 5 covering county vehicles, and travel.

(e)

Part-time and/or temporary employees designated by the county board of commissioners, except that they will be subject to section 1, General employment practices; section 2, Recruitment and selection; section 3, Appointment and separation; section 4, Disciplinary action, suspension and dismissal; section 5, Compensation; section 6, Attendance and leave.

(f)

Employees of the Halifax County Board of Education.
