§ 3-2.3. Transfer.

  • Any employee in the county service who has successfully completed his probationary period may be transferred to the same or a similar class in a different department without being subject to a probationary period. An employee desiring to be transferred should make his request to his department head and the county manager, (or in the case of the department head, to the county manager). As vacancies occur in other departments to which an employee would be eligible for transfer, his name will be submitted to the various department heads for consideration. If a department head wishes to employ him, the employee must request a transfer to that specific department and have it approved by his current department head and the department head receiving the employee, and by the county manager (or in the case of department heads, by the receiving department head and by the county manager). Any employee transferred may appeal the action in accordance with the grievance procedure outlined in section 8.
