§ 22-93. Application for permit.

  • Application shall be made at the county office of the inspection department for all permits required by this chapter. The application may be made by mail, in person or by telephone. If made by mail or telephone, the applicant must give the inspection department the date work is to begin, plus other pertinent information needed by the inspector to secure permit signatures, permit fees, and carry out any other inspection functions. All payments to cover permit fees must be received by the inspection department within ten days of the date of application for permits, either through mail, by personal delivery or by prior arrangement at the job site. The applicant, in addition to such other information as may be required, shall furnish the following:

    (1)

    Name, residence and business address of owner.

    (2)

    Name, residence and business address of authorized representative or agent, if any.

    (3)

    Name and address of the contractor, if any, together with evidence that he obtained a certificate from the appropriate state licensing board for such contractor, if such certificate is required for the work involved in the permit for which application is made.

    (4)

    At the time application is made, a certificate as to status of licensure must be signed under oath and submitted to the county inspection department office by general contractor or the owner, whomever is the applicant for the permit.
