§ 54-58. Purpose.

The purpose of this article is to:

(1)

Regulate the location, operation and management of incineration facilities dealing with the storage, transfer, treatment or disposal of waste within the county where the total incinerator capacity is greater than 250 pounds per hour continuous burn or 400 pounds per each batch burn incinerator unit.

(2)

Assure that the best available management practices are used in handling waste incineration.

(3)

Assure that operation of such facilities within the county poses no threat to the water, land and air resources of the county.

(4)

Assure that all applicable rules and regulations stipulated by state and federal regulatory agencies are met.
