§ 6-4.8. Sick leave credit for accumulated leave.

  • One month of retirement credit is allowed for each 20 days accrued in an employee's sick leave account at the time of retirement, if the employee is a member of the local government employee's retirement system. (Refer to your Retirement Benefits Handbook for further clarification). Employees who retire, resign in good standing, or are reinstated within one year, will be credited with their previously accumulated sick leave. Employees who are dismissed for reasons other than reduction in force and employees who are not reinstated within one year, will lose all sick leave credits. No employee will be paid for accumulated sick leave.
