§ 1-1.4. Organization; personnel officer.

  • The county manager shall act as the personnel officer with approval of the county commissioners. The personnel officer shall be responsible for the direction of the personnel program.

    The personnel officer shall also:

    (1)

    Establish and maintain a roster of all persons in the county service, setting forth each officer and employee, class title of position, salary, and changes in class title and status, and such other data as may be deemed desirable or useful.

    (2)

    Develop and administer such recruiting programs as may be necessary to obtain an adequate supply of competent applicants to meet the needs of the county.

    (3)

    Appoint, promote, separate and/or approve all personnel actions for county employees not exempt from coverage of this plan. The personnel officer should consult with department heads on actions that affect their departments.

    (4)

    Perform such other duties as may be assigned not inconsistent with this policy.
