§ 38-29. Duties and responsibilities.

  • (a)

    The human relations council will serve as an advisory body to the county commissioners upon request of the county commissioners.

    (b)

    It shall be the duty of the human relations council to study problems in the county pertaining to relationships among individuals and groups of all kinds, and to make recommendations to the county commissioners for the betterment of such relationships within the county. In performing its functions, the council shall invite and enlist the cooperation of all racial and ethnic groups, as well as persons representing various economic, educational, and social groups in all areas of the county, and shall act as a coordinating agency among these and other groups in the community in the establishment and maintenance of educational programs in the community designed to bring about better human relations.
