§ 1-7.8. Allocation of positions.

  • When a new position is established or the duties of an existing position change, department heads will submit in writing a comprehensive job description describing in detail the duties of such a position. The county manager will then investigate the actual or suggested duties and make the appropriate class allocation or recommend to the commissioners the establishment of a new class.

    New employees will be hired at Step 1 of the approved grade unless written justification is submitted and prior approval has been given to hire at a higher step.
